Our history

Our Lady of grace

The rich history of our parish begins almost 50 years ago now with the St. Joseph Parish of Cockeysville, our founding organization. From small beginnings come amazing things, and our history is a testament to that.

In 1974 our first Pastor, Father Ed Lynch, began holding weekly mass at Hereford High School, and would continue to serve the community there for ten years. As the parish grew so did the need for a permanent space, in fact during this transitional time, the church organ would be transported to the school in the back of a pick-up truck.

The move from Hereford to Sparks broke ground on what we now know and love as Our Lady of Grace in 1984. Father Neil O’Donnell would serve as our second Pastor of OLG from 1984-1995.

We pride ourselves in our rich and exciting lineage, and invite you to become a part of our history.c
